"Wasshoi Hyakuman Natsu Matsuri" Confirmed to be Held! (September 19-20)

Kitakyushu City's summer festival is coming again this year!

The "Wasshoi Hyakuman Natsu Matsuri," Kitakyushu City's representative summer event, has been confirmed to be held.

This year again, the festival will take place in the streets of Kokura, featuring a variety of events including a citizen participation parade and powerful stage performances. It will be held as Kitakyushu City's largest summer festival, where citizens and visitors can enjoy themselves together.

Event Outline

◆Dates: September 19 (Sat) and 20 (Sun), Reiwa 8 (2026)

◆Venue: Komoji Street, around Kokura Castle, Katsuayama Park

"Hyakuman Odori" Participants Wanted! Same-day participation now possible this year

We are recruiting participants for the "Hyakuman Odori," a signature citizen participation event of this festival.

The circle of dancers filling Komoji Street is one of the highlights of the Wasshoi Hyakuman Natsu Matsuri. Starting this year, in addition to advance registration, same-day participation is also possible, making it easier for more people to join.

First-time event! "Children's Yamakasa Grand Parade!" Participants wanted!

In the "Children's Yamakasa Grand Parade!," which will be held for the first time this year, children will be the stars, pulling the Wasshoi Mikoshi (portable shrine) through the town.

Children who participate will receive an original happi coat as a gift!

*If there are many applicants, a lottery will be held.

This new project aims to deliver summer memories to children through a special experience unique to this festival.
