Maizuru City will hold a three-part 'Workshop on the Future of Community Centers' starting June 20, 2026, to discuss the roles and needs of these facilities amidst aging infrastructure and population decline. While community centers have served as hubs for local communities, changing times and aging buildings have made it difficult to maintain traditional operations. This workshop aims to have citizens envision the future 10 to 20 years from now, considering the necessary functions and the ideal state of the buildings. Each session includes a facility tour, and the capacity is 15 to 20 people. Applications are accepted until noon on June 19.
