To commemorate the sister city agreement between Maizuru City and the Rishtan district of Uzbekistan, signed on May 27, the Maizuru Repatriation Memorial Museum is currently holding a special exhibition titled "Uzbekistan and Maizuru ~From Internment to Exchange, Deepening Bonds~".

Even under the harsh conditions of internment in Uzbekistan during the former Soviet era after the war, the pride and integrity of the Japanese people were not lost and have been passed down by the local people to this day. The visit of the director of the Japanese POW Museum in Uzbekistan to Maizuru served as an opportunity for exchange, which has now culminated in this agreement.

This exhibition introduces the journey of "deepening bonds" from the memory of hardship during internment to current exchanges and into the future, along with valuable original materials.

✦ Main Exhibition Materials and Highlights
