Minato City concluded a "Basic Agreement on Cooperation for the Prevention of Onset and Aggravation of Lifestyle-related Diseases Among Minato City Residents" with the Tokyo Minato City Medical Association, a general incorporated association, on June 11, 2026.

Lifestyle-related diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and COPD account for approximately half of the causes of death among city residents. In order to extend the healthy life expectancy of residents by preventing the onset and aggravation of these lifestyle-related diseases, the city and the Minato City Medical Association will actively cooperate and collaborate.

Outline of Cooperation and Collaboration Items:

- Collection and analysis of high-quality scientific evidence required for health programs planned by the city to prevent the onset and aggravation of residents' lifestyle-related diseases (cancer, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and COPD). - Coordination and adjustment with clinics and specialized medical institutions in the planning and implementation of health programs. - Evaluation and verification of health programs. - Public awareness and enlightenment regarding health programs for residents.
