Daichowakai will hold 'The 64th Daichowa Exhibition Yamanashi Tour' at the Nirasaki Citizen Exchange Center 'Nicori' for 8 days from May 31 (Sun) to June 7 (Sun), 2026. This exhibition is a selection from the 'Daichowa Exhibition,' a historic public art show revived in 1962 with literary giant Saneatsu Mushanokoji as chairman. About 50 carefully selected works, including masterpieces by artists living in Yamanashi Prefecture and major award-winning pieces from the main exhibition held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum in April, will be displayed. It is a valuable opportunity to experience the charm of figurative painting up close. The venue is the Art Gallery 1 & 2 in the basement of the Nirasaki Citizen Exchange Center 'Nicori,' and admission is free. A portrait drawing event is also scheduled for June 6 and 7 (advance application required). Daichowakai aims to promote and develop figurative painting, and this is the 8th Yamanashi tour.
