34th Odagawa Firefly Festival in Nirasaki, Yamanashi on June 13, 2026

The Odagawa Firefly Festival Executive Committee will host the 34th Odagawa Firefly Festival at Yanagihara Shrine in Nirasaki City, Yamanashi, on June 13, 2026, from 18:00 to 21:00. Located in the Odagawa area, selected as one of the Ministry of the Environment's Top 100 Hometowns for Living Creatures, the event celebrates Genji fireflies. Activities include traditional firefly straw cage making and various food stalls. Visitors can also enjoy peaceful firefly viewing during the main observation period from June 1 to June 20, 2026, daily between 20:00 and 21:30. To protect the fireflies, catching them is strictly prohibited, and using bright lights like flashlights or camera flashes is forbidden. Parking is unavailable at Yanagihara Shrine on the festival day; visitors must use nearby designated parking lots (Yellow Hat Nirasaki, Kishima, Kinseiken Nirasaki, or Corner Pocket) located a 10-minute walk away.
