Nirasaki City, Yamanashi Prefecture, is pleased to announce the commencement of applications for the "Reiwa 8 Nirasaki Wine Seminar," an initiative designed to promote local industries and cultivate a wine culture by offering a fun and systematic approach to learning the basics of wine.
We are honored to have Mr. Daisuke Motegi, a certified sommelier by the Japan Sommelier Association, as the instructor for this seminar.
The course will span seven sessions, featuring not only lectures covering the history and knowledge of wines from around the world and Japan but also practical elements such as actual wine tasting and tours of wineries within the city, offering a curriculum uniquely tailored to Nirasaki City's status as a wine-producing area.
A Comprehensive 7-Session Curriculum Guided by a Certified Sommelier, Covering Lectures, Tastings, and Fieldwork
In Yamanashi Prefecture, one of Japan's leading wine-producing regions, engaging with local produce and understanding the profound charm of wine leads to a rediscovery of the region's culture and richness.
Under the clear and accessible guidance of a professional sommelier, this seminar allows participants, from beginners to enthusiasts, to deepen their knowledge in an enjoyable way.
The curriculum covers the history of wine, wines from various countries including France, and the rapidly evolving wines of Yamanashi and Japan. Furthermore, beyond acquiring knowledge, the program includes fieldwork, scheduled for the fifth session, where participants will visit local wineries, providing a rich experience to learn about wine using all five senses.
