The Nogata Tanio Art Museum in Nogata City will hold the special exhibition "Masayoshi Sukita Photo Exhibition: Sukita's Eye, An Eye Looking Beyond the Era" to commemorate the donation of works by photographer Masayoshi Sukita, who hails from Nogata City. Sukita is a highly acclaimed photographer both domestically and internationally, having worked on album cover photos for artists like David Bowie and YMO. This exhibition will showcase selected works from approximately 300 donated pieces, introducing the broad world of Sukita's art. This exhibition marks the first of a five-part series to be held biennially starting in 2026. The inaugural exhibition will delve into Sukita's origins and gaze through diverse works, including his early piece "Mother," scenes of Nogata and Chikuhō in the 1950s, everyday snapshots, and portraits of prominent figures symbolizing the era. We invite you to experience Sukita's "eye," which has continuously observed the times through photography.
