As a project commemorating the 50th anniversary of the passing of Gen Yamaguchi, an artist who received international printmaking awards, we will hold a retrospective exhibition that not only celebrates his achievements but also allows visitors to experience the charm of "Gen Yamaguchi, the Person," who lived without regard for the future and was absorbed in printmaking.
This exhibition will trace his interactions with printmakers such as Kōshirō Onchi, his life as a traveling artist who went with the wind, and his days in Numazu, along with related materials, introducing not only his works but also the journey of "Gen Yamaguchi, the Person." It is an exhibition that re-examines Gen Yamaguchi, who deepened his unique expression while being supported by the climate and people of Numazu, as a regional cultural asset. An opening event will be held on the first day of the exhibition.
