In July 2025, the planetarium at the Sagamihara City Museum was renovated with the latest equipment capable of projecting one billion stars. The 'Planetarium de Binocular Experience' event was launched to allow visitors to view the full starry sky projected by this state-of-the-art planetarium more intimately through binoculars.
Following the great success of the first event held in February of this year, we are pleased to announce the second installment, themed around the 'Southern Hemisphere Sky.'
Visitors will be loaned small binoculars, so you don't need to bring anything. You are also welcome to use your own binoculars; comparing them with the ones we provide might be interesting.
Please note that tripods are not allowed inside the planetarium dome, so please bring binoculars that can be held by hand.
