Shima City, Mie Prefecture Launches 'Furusato Support Discount' to Attract Visitors from Remote Areas

Shima City, in collaboration with Japan Airlines Co., Ltd., has opened a special Shima City page titled 'An Unforgettable Wonderful Journey Only in Shima' within the 'JAL Dynamic Package,' which allows users to freely combine and book flights and accommodation.

Consequently, the city will begin applying the 'Furusato Support Discount,' a subsidy for a portion of travel expenses that was very well-received last year.

Overview of the Furusato Support Discount

1. Subsidy Overview

Eligible Persons: Those staying at designated accommodation facilities within Shima City

Subsidy Amount: 5,000 yen per person per night

*Maximum subsidy of 20,000 yen (up to 4 nights per reservation)

Conditions: Reservations must be made from the 'Shima City Special Page' on the JAL Dynamic Package.

2. Eligible Period

From Monday, June 1, 2026 to Sunday, February 28, 2027 (for stays)

The city plans to add optional tours that allow visitors to fully enjoy Shima's unique nature and culture on this special page.
