Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine in Takayama, Gifu Prefecture will host the summer tradition 'Sakurayama Furin Matsuri 2026' from July 18 (Saturday) to August 29 (Saturday), 2026. Around 2,000 wind chimes will be arranged in the ema hall, swaying in the wind and producing clear, refreshing sounds. Each wind chime is tied with a wish tag, connecting the hearts of visitors through healing and prayer. The event will also feature illuminations, wind chime painting experiences, and festival stalls, offering a special, multisensory experience of summer in Takayama.

◆ Illuminations & Wind Chime Painting Experience (4 Days Only)
The magical illumination event will be held on the evenings of July 25, August 1, 8, and 15 (Saturdays) from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. (Subject to cancellation due to bad weather)
During the festival, visitors can participate in a wind chime painting experience (limited quantity, paid), which is popular among families and couples.
◆ Festival Day Event on August 15!
On Saturday, August 15, a traditional festival will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
In addition to food trucks and food stalls, visitors can enjoy performances such as Gagaku (traditional Japanese court music) starting around 7:00 PM.
◆ Dedicated Wind Chimes and Limited-Edition Goshuin
During the event, 'Dedicated Wind Chimes' (800 yen) and a seasonal 'Special Goshuin' (500 yen) will be available. Visitors can dedicate their heartfelt wishes to the wind.
