Toshima City will hold 'Toshima de Manabu Natsu no Ichinichi' at the Important Cultural Property, Jiyu Gakuen Asunaro Kan (2-31-3 Nishi-Ikebukuro, Toshima City) on July 26th (Sun).

Supporting Summer Learning! A Public-Private Partnership Event for Parents and Children to Enjoy

This event, which has been held since FY2022 as a public-private partnership initiative, aims to provide children with a learning opportunity during their summer vacation. This year, 15 booths from companies and organizations affiliated with the city will be exhibited, offering experiential programs on various themes such as work, disaster prevention, traffic safety, environment/SDGs, art, and science for parents and children to enjoy together.

Two New Participants! Art and Theater Experiences with Rich Individuality

Toshima Museum Network (led by the Ancient Orient Museum), participating for the first time, is an organization with 15 facilities including cultural facilities and administrative agencies within the city. They will hold workshops with rich individuality from each facility, such as 'Let's Write Ancient Egyptian Culture,' 'Let's Learn About Coral! Coral Quiz,' 'Dialogue-type Appreciation Experience,' and 'Let's Make an Original Bookmark.' Additionally, the Seinenza Theater Company, also participating for the first time, has taken over the building of the Theater Art Academy, which closed its 77-year history in March 2026, and moved from Shibuya City to Toshima City. As an opportunity to collaborate with the local community, they will exhibit a theater experience booth with the actors. With the participation of these two new cultural organizations, children will have the opportunity to experience a variety of cultures and arts.

Perfect for Free Research! A Variety of Programs to Learn from Vehicles to SDGs

In addition, you can experience the jobs of station attendants and police officers, ride in ambulances, white bikes, and patrol cars, experience disaster and meteorological attractions, attend traffic safety classes, enjoy festival events, make animal mobiles, learn about SDGs through vending machines, and experience riding the IKEBUS. These programs are packed with content that stimulates children's intellectual curiosity and can be useful for summer vacation free research.
