Toyohashi Zoo and Botanical Park will hold a joint online SDGs workshop on June 27 for elementary students to learn about Borneo elephant conservation and sustainable palm oil with peers in Malaysia.
The Borneo elephant is endangered due to deforestation from palm oil plantation expansions, with only about 1000 left. Toyohashi Zoo and Botanical Park (Nonhoi Park) will connect online with Malaysian Borneo, Kobe Animal Kingdom, and Kochi Noichi Zoological Park on June 27 (10:00-12:00) for its fifth SDG workshop. Elementary students will discuss coexistence and sustainable palm oil usage. Participant posters will be displayed from August 12 to 30.
