Supporting Spay and Neuter Surgeries for Stray Cats: Crowdfunding Begins to Support TNR Activities

Toyonaka City is promoting TNR activities with the goal of preventing an increase in cats living in harsh environments and creating an environment where people and cats can coexist.

Since the cost of spay and neuter surgeries is a major challenge, the city is implementing the "Cat Spay and Neuter Surgery Subsidy Program" utilizing crowdfunding. Last fiscal year, thanks to the support of donations through crowdfunding, the city was able to subsidize surgery costs for 338 cats.

This fiscal year, the city will again begin accepting crowdfunding donations starting Friday, May 1. Through these donations, the city aims to expand the circle of understanding and support for TNR activities together with its citizens.

TNR is an acronym for Trap, Neuter (performing spay or neuter surgery), and Return (returning to the original location).

### Crowdfunding Overview

**Period:** Friday, May 1, 2026, to Tuesday, June 30, 2026

**Goal Amount:** 1.5 million yen (donations will still be accepted during the period even after the goal is reached)

**Donation Method:** Application through the Toyonaka City Donation Acceptance Site

Cats that have undergone spay or neuter surgery will have a V-shaped notch cut into the tip of their ear for identification purposes.
