Tsugaru City Premium Melon Fair 2026: Taste Melons with a Sugar Content of 17 Degrees or Higher for a Limited Time in Tokyo!

Tsugaru City, Aomori Prefecture (Mayor: Kurao Akihiro; hereinafter, Tsugaru City) is one of Japan's leading melon-producing regions, ranking 4th nationwide in melon production value by municipality (2023 Municipal Agricultural Production Value (Estimate) by Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries). Among these, only special melons with a sugar content of 17 degrees or higher, which account for a few percent of the total harvest, are shipped as "Premium Melons."

Now, from July 15 (Wed), the "Tsugaru City Premium Melon Fair 2026" will be held at three stores in Tokyo: Fruit Parlor Goto, Hotcake Parlor Fru-Full Akasaka Store, and "Kafuku Melon to Roman," operated by Tsugaru City.

At this fair, we will offer limited-time menus that utilize Tsugaru City's "Premium Melons" and showcase the unique character of each store.

Tsugaru City "Premium Melons" with a Sugar Content of 17 Degrees or Higher

In Tsugaru City, melons with a sugar content of 17 degrees or higher, selected by JA Goshotsugaru's light-sensor sorting system, are shipped as "Premium Melons." These are rare melons, accounting for only a few percent of the total harvest, with a limited harvesting period.

Uses Tsugaru City Takami Melon for the green flesh. The ice cream is homemade melon ice cream. The combination of two types of melon flesh and melon ice cream doubles the refreshing taste.

This signature dish offers hotcakes combining the sweetness of melon with the slightly sweet and creamy taste of mascarpone cheese, paired with melon ice cream.

- Kafuku Melon to Roman "Summer Limited Melon Parfait (Details to be announced July 14)"

This summer, a parfait served in half a Tsugaru City melon will be available again.
