Yokohama City is developing individual evacuation plans for individuals who use medical equipment such as ventilators, for whom power outages during disasters are life-threatening. Users of ventilators and similar equipment require vehicles capable of loading and securing reclining wheelchairs, and face significant difficulties in transport to evacuation centers, including the need for medical care during transit and the preparation of equipment and medical supplies. Therefore, the city has been building a support system for smooth evacuation by signing cooperation agreements with companies possessing emergency vehicles and transport technology. Recently, the city signed agreements with 9 new companies, strengthening the evacuation transport system to a total of 20 companies.
