PLA Holds First High-Level Cadre Training Class Under Anti-Corruption Drive; Xi Jinping Stresses Understanding Laws and Rules

The first 'All-Army Senior Cadre Training Class' of the PLA commenced at the National Defense University, presided over by Zhang Shengmin, Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission. Xi Jinping, in his speech, urged cadres to understand laws and rules, and to maintain the army's purity and honor. He stressed the importance of ideological rectification and political training, guided by 'Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.' Xi called on senior cadres to lead by example in internal party political life, foster a tolerant atmosphere, and promote speaking truth and daring to struggle. He reiterated that the Communist Party represents the fundamental interests of the people and has no special interests, contrasting this with selfish and corrupt behavior. Xi also emphasized the need for cadres to stand firm on the people's position and restore the party's fine traditions, encouraging a spirit of integrity within the forces. He concluded by stating that cadres must 'understand laws and rules, be clear about regulations, and know awe,' ensuring equality before regulations and no exceptions in their enforcement. The PLA has grown stronger through struggles against various incorrect ideas and work styles.
