A man surnamed Cheng in his 30s crashed into 10 vehicles while driving on Jiankang Road in Taipei's Songshan District today. Fortunately, no one was injured. Police arrived at the scene, conducted alcohol and drug saliva tests, confirmed the driver was under the influence of drugs, and seized narcotics from him. The case has been referred to the prosecutor's office.

Taipei City Police Department's Songshan Precinct received a report of a multi-vehicle collision on Jiankang Road after 10:00 AM and dispatched officers to the scene.

Investigation revealed that Cheng lost control of his vehicle, hitting nine parked motorcycles and one car waiting at a red light. There were no injuries at the scene.

Officers performed alcohol and drug tests. While the alcohol test was negative, the drug saliva test was positive. Police immediately conducted a search for public endangerment charges related to drug-impaired driving and seized drugs from Cheng's person and vehicle.

The case has been referred to the Taipei District Prosecutors Office for public endangerment and violations of the Narcotics Hazard Prevention Act, and the vehicle has been impounded.

Police warned that drugs severely impair a driver's judgment and reaction time, endangering not only the driver but also the lives and property of other road users. They urged the public not to break the law.
