The Taiwan stock market opened high and continued to rise today, surging more than 1,200 points in early trading to reach 44,750, setting a new historical intraday high. MediaTek and Delta Electronics hit the daily limit. TSMC rose 55 NTD to reach 2,325 NTD. Observing the trend of key indicator stocks, UMC rose more than 8%, Winbond hit the daily limit, and Nanya Technology and Macronix also saw strong gains.
