Consequently, the NT dollar also rose due to capital inflows, marking its sixth consecutive day of appreciation against the US dollar. It closed at 31.42, the highest level in over half a month. The total turnover in the Taipei and Yuanta foreign exchange markets reached 2.734 billion USD. Forex traders noted that the NT dollar is expected to show a "gradual appreciation" in the short term, with the central bank continuing to intervene to prevent excessive volatility.
