Facing new competition from retail giants like Uni-President and PX Mart, Fubon Multimedia (momo) Chairman Tsai Ming-chung revealed for the first time that the company had evaluated acquiring a food delivery platform. He noted that logistics and e-commerce could create synergies, and he hopes to further develop 'quick-commerce' services, similar to how Coupang operates in South Korea. Tsai stated that Taiwan's e-commerce penetration rate is only about 13% to 14%, significantly lower than the 20% to 30% seen in other countries, suggesting the market is not yet saturated. He also highlighted that momo has never raised capital from shareholders since its inception and is currently focusing on heavy capital expenditure for logistics centers to secure long-term competitiveness.
