Tri-Service General Hospital Uses Precision Radiotherapy for Prostate Cancer

According to CNA, a 77-year-old man was diagnosed with prostate cancer during a routine check-up. Concerned about potential urinary incontinence from surgery, he opted for precision radiotherapy at the Tri-Service General Hospital. He completed five sessions within two weeks with minimal side effects, and the tumor is now stably controlled. Dr. Yang Ren-fu noted that while traditional radiotherapy often affects normal tissue due to wider treatment margins, precision radiotherapy minimizes these side effects. Since April, the National Health Insurance Administration has included this stereotactic radiotherapy in the coverage for certain prostate cancer patients.
