Central News Agency (Taipei, 27th) Recognizing the rapid growth of high-net-worth individuals in Taiwan, Standard Chartered International Commercial Bank announced today the opening of its third international private banking center in Taiwan, located at the Tianmu branch. The center targets clients with total assets of NT$30 million or more and plans to launch an invitation-only credit card in the third quarter of this year, integrating wealth management and global travel experiences. Standard Chartered opened centers in Taichung's 7th Redevelopment Zone and Taipei's Xinyi District in 2025, making Tianmu its 19th global location for priority private banking. To enhance privacy and comfort, the counters are located deep within the lobby, and clients can consult in nine meeting rooms named after international cities. Standard Chartered General Manager Ian Yu revealed that Taiwan is one of the group's top three wealth management markets, noting Tianmu's international character and the potential for high-tech industry growth. The bank aims to meet the needs of wealthy clients, including wealth succession and asset activation through insurance. Judy Hsu, CEO of Wealth Management and Consumer Banking, emphasized that Asia is a key growth engine for global wealth management and that Taiwanese clients' needs are increasingly aligned with international standards.
