To prevent drug-impaired driving, the Dajia Police Precinct in Taichung City has cracked down on 24 cases as of May 24 this year. Furthermore, they have traced the supply chain to dismantle four packaging sites for 'zombie vapes' (etomidate). By tackling the issue from both the source and the streets, police arrested two individuals for drug-impaired driving and five for drunk driving between May 25 and 27, processing them according to the law.

In a press release today, the Dajia Police Precinct stated that drug and alcohol-impaired driving are like "ticking time bombs." To strengthen enforcement, police have increased inspections of suspicious individuals and vehicles in high-risk areas. Between May 25 and 27, officers successfully intercepted two drug-impaired driving cases and five drunk driving cases.

On the night of the 25th, police inspected a vehicle illegally parked in Dajia District while the driver was buying a late-night snack, discovering drug possession and signs of impairment. On the 26th, officers stopped a suspect for motorcycle theft during a patrol. The suspect was not only a wanted thief but was also found in possession of drugs and tested positive for drug use, leading to further investigation for drug-impaired driving.

Statistics from the Dajia Police Precinct show that as of May 24, 24 cases of drug-impaired driving have been handled, and four etomidate packaging sites have been dismantled, safeguarding road users.
