Central News Agency reporter Wu Chia-hao, Taipei, May 28. Electronics manufacturing giant Compal announced today that it is partnering with Chung Shan Medical University and its affiliated hospital to promote the 'POLYMEDX Smart Medical Operations Platform.' The first phase will focus on smart medication delivery and medical logistics in the emergency room. Future steps will gradually extend to central pharmacy logistics management, hospital-wide logistics coordination, and smart operational decision-making to create an AI-driven smart hospital. Chen Hsi-kuan, Senior Vice President of Compal, stated in a press release that the core of a smart hospital is not just AI tools or individual robots, but the establishment of a smart operations platform that can be perceived, simulated, managed, and continuously learned by AI. Compal pointed out that this collaboration starts with the high-frequency, real-time logistics needs of the emergency room. By integrating autonomous mobile robots, smart task dispatching, tracking, AI orchestration, and digital management systems, they aim to establish a smart medication delivery loop between the emergency room and the pharmacy, helping the hospital reduce repetitive manual work and improve logistics efficiency. Chung Shan Medical University Hospital stated that through this partnership, they can not only improve logistics efficiency but also accumulate smart medical operational data and AI management experience as a foundation for future development.
