The Israeli military and the Shin Bet security agency announced that they killed Mohammed Odeh, the leader of Hamas's armed wing, the Ezzedine Al-Qassam Brigades, in an airstrike in Gaza. Odeh had been appointed as the leader following the death of his predecessor, Ezzedine Al-Haddad, earlier this month. Despite a ceasefire, violence continues, and Israel maintains its goal of ending Hamas's rule in the territory.
