During a review of the Ministry of Agriculture's budget, lawmakers raised concerns about the declining profits of Taiwan Fertilizer Co. (Taifer). Minister Chen Jun-ji explained that since 2021, the government has implemented a fertilizer price freeze. To maintain stability, the government and Taifer have split the cost of rising raw material prices 50-50. Taifer has absorbed approximately NT$1 billion over the past three years, leading to reduced profits. The Ministry of Agriculture remains the largest shareholder but prioritizes the social responsibility of ensuring stable fertilizer supply.
