Central News Agency, Taipei, May 28. For the 115th academic year, universities are releasing their lists of admitted and waitlisted students. Since a student may be admitted to multiple programs, the Selection Committee will open registration for preference ranking on June 4 and 5, with final placement results expected on June 11. The 'Application for Admission' is the largest admission channel in Taiwan, involving evaluations of academic test scores, learning portfolios, and sometimes interviews or written exams. Many universities have recently announced their lists; for example, National Chengchi University has admitted 941 students with 1,063 on the waitlist, available via their website and notice boards. Universities remind students to register their preferences on the Selection Committee's website between 9:00 AM and 9:00 PM on June 4 and 5. This system exists because students can only enroll in one program, and vacancies created by students declining offers are filled by waitlisted candidates. Therefore, all admitted or waitlisted students must register their preferences online; failure to do so will be treated as an automatic forfeiture of admission. Students who did not get into their preferred programs can still participate in the subject tests in July to compete for spots through the 'Placement Admission' channel.
