(CNA, Lianjiang County, 28th) The Matsu National Scenic Area Administration (MNSA) held a beach cleanup event at Tanghou Road in Beigan today, calling on local military personnel, residents, and tourists to participate. The event also featured a marine debris art creation session, aiming to promote a sustainable tourism model that integrates environmental action. The MNSA stated that in line with the Executive Yuan's policy of "Respecting the Ocean" and promoting responsible marine tourism, the "Protect Tanghou Road, Recreate Blue Tears" cleanup and environmental education activity was held this morning. A total of 150 participants joined forces to clear plastic bottles, fishing floats, and Styrofoam fragments that threaten the landscape and ecosystem, restoring the pristine appearance of the Tanghou Road beach. Local artist Lien Tsai-lin was invited to guide participants in using the collected materials to create art pieces reflecting Matsu's unique imagery, giving new life to marine waste. The MNSA emphasized that through the cleanup and art creation, they hope participants will reflect on the relationship between humans and the ocean, allowing the seeds of environmental sustainability to sprout. Tanghou Road beach is one of Matsu's most iconic marine attractions, known for its rare large-scale white sand, the sandbar formed by tides, and the "Blue Tears" that shimmer on the sea at night.
