Central News Agency (Kaohsiung) - A man surnamed Lu from Pingtung was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison by the Kaohsiung District Court for violating the Child and Youth Sexual Exploitation Prevention Act. Lu met a girl under 12 through a mobile game, coerced her into taking indecent photos and videos, and threatened her to force a video call. During the trial, Lu confessed and reached a NT$50,000 settlement with the victim's family. Although the family requested a lighter sentence and a suspended sentence, the judge ruled that Lu had exploited the girl's lack of maturity and committed multiple acts with malicious intent, thus failing to meet the criteria for a suspended sentence. According to the verdict, Lu met the girl last April. After obtaining indecent photos, he demanded a video call. When the girl refused, he sent threatening messages. Fortunately, the girl persisted in her refusal, and the video call did not take place.
