Taipei's 'Cultural Tours' Criticized for Poor Maintenance; Mayor Promises Improvements

DPP Taipei City Councilor Chen Yi-chun pointed out today that the 100 spots promoted under the city's 'Cultural Tours' initiative lack proper maintenance, citing broken landscape lighting and litter. Chen presented photos showing the neglected state of the former North-Danshui Line Yuanshan Station dormitory and statues at the Central Art Park that are completely obscured in darkness at night, criticizing the city's management. In response, Mayor Chiang Wan-an ordered all responsible departments to implement quarterly inspections and optimizations. The Department of Cultural Affairs stated that it will continue to maintain cross-departmental cooperation and improve the urban landscape through regular inspections.
