Kaohsiung Teacher Suicide Case: Mayor Chen Chi-mai Proposes School Affairs Meeting Reform

Following the tragic death of a teacher at a Kaohsiung elementary school, Mayor Chen Chi-mai visited the family and announced the formation of a teacher support advisory committee by the Education Bureau. The Mayor proposed three major improvements: 'strengthening the teacher support system,' 'reforming school affairs meetings,' and 'properly handling teacher-student counseling.' The city plans to increase psychological counseling subsidies to 12 sessions and conduct a comprehensive review of the school affairs meeting system to address institutional flaws.
