Heavy Rain Alert for Nantou Mountains; Caution Advised in Hualien, Taitung, and Taichung

Taiwan's Central Weather Administration has issued a heavy rain alert due to strong convective cloud development, which has already caused heavy rain in the mountainous areas of Nantou County. From tonight through tomorrow morning, Nantou's mountainous areas are expected to see continued heavy rain. Caution is also advised in the Hengchun Peninsula, Hualien, Taitung, and the mountainous areas of Miaoli and Taichung, where residents should be alert for lightning, strong winds, landslides, and rising river levels.
