The Foundation for International Cooperation in Higher Education of Taiwan (FICHET) and the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) have signed a memorandum of understanding to form the Taiwan-US Semiconductor Education Alliance. The signing, witnessed by Taiwan's Minister of Education Cheng Ying-yao in Orlando on the 27th, involved 23 Taiwanese and 27 US universities. FICHET Chairman Lee Tsai-yen stated that global semiconductor industries face unprecedented talent shortages, necessitating cross-border and interdisciplinary training models. By leveraging Taiwan's semiconductor ecosystem and US educational resources, the alliance aims to strengthen the resilience of the global technology supply chain.
