Pingtung Irwin Mango Competition: 45 Entries, Fangliao Farmer Wang Yi-jun Wins Championship

The awards ceremony for the "115th Pingtung County Quality Irwin Mango Competition," hosted by the Pingtung County Government, was held today, with Wang Yi-jun, a farmer from Fangliao Township, winning the championship. County Magistrate Chou Chun-mi stated that this year's competition included packaging design in the evaluation criteria to enhance market competitiveness and increase farmers' income. Pingtung is the second-largest mango producing area in Taiwan, with a planting area of approximately 4,178 hectares. The winners will participate in a sales event at the Taipei Hope Plaza on June 6 to bring high-quality mangoes directly to consumers. Mr. Wang has over 10 years of cultivation experience and pursues quality and sweetness through meticulous field management.
