According to the Central News Agency, Tokyo, May 29. The Tokyo Stock Price Index (TOPIX) rose today, marking its fifth consecutive week of gains, the longest winning streak in about a year. This rally was primarily driven by reports of a preliminary agreement between the US and Iran to extend a ceasefire, which boosted electronics and technology stocks. The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 1,636.38 points, or 2.53%, to close at 66,329.50. The TOPIX index rose 55.16 points, or 1.41%, to close at 3,957.17.
