Heavy Rain Alert Issued for 9 Counties and Cities; CWA Urges Caution

The Central Weather Administration (CWA) issued a heavy rain alert on the 29th. Due to strong convective clouds, short-duration heavy rainfall is expected. Pingtung County and mountainous areas of Kaohsiung are at risk of heavy rain. Chiayi, Tainan, Kaohsiung, Hualien, Taitung, Green Island, and the mountainous areas of Nantou and Yunlin also face a risk of heavy rain. The CWA urges the public to be aware of lightning and strong gusts, and to guard against landslides, rockfalls, and rising river levels in mountainous areas, as well as flooding in low-lying areas.
