CTBC Brothers' Chen Chun-Hsiu Self-Reports Poor Condition, Moves to Minor League for Adjustment

Central News Agency, Taipei, May 30. The CPBL's CTBC Brothers announced a roster change today. Manager Keiichi Hirano stated that veteran infielder Chen Chun-Hsiu assessed that he was unable to play for several consecutive days due to poor physical condition and requested to move to the minor league for adjustments. As a veteran player, Chen understands his body best, and the team hopes he can recover quickly.

The Brothers are playing the Fubon Guardians at the Taipei Dome today. With Chen moving down, Hsu Chi-hung has been promoted to the major league roster. Manager Hirano explained, "Chen's physical condition has not been good. Rather than having him play and adjust at the same time in the major league, it is better for him to go to the minor league and adjust his condition as soon as possible."

When asked about a return date, Hirano expressed hope that Chen would return as soon as the minor league regulations allow, once his physical and mental state are fully adjusted. Chen has played 35 games this season, with 28 hits in 110 at-bats, including 3 home runs, and a batting average of .255.
