Comedy Club Attacked with Feces; Authorities Investigate Possible Cross-Border Suppression

Because performer Huang Yi-hao had previously publicly satirized Chinese leader Xi Jinping, there is concern that the attack may involve cross-border suppression. The Mainland Affairs Council (MAC) emphasized that the government will not tolerate any violence or harassment and will firmly counter any cross-border suppression by foreign hostile forces against Taiwan. The incident occurred at 6:45 PM on the 29th during rehearsals. Huang is the organizer of the 'Stand-up Out of Control' show and has previously gained attention for satirizing Xi Jinping. Huang posted on social media after the incident, saying he did not know the suspect's motive but suggested it might be related to his personal content or the Xi Jinping jokes. The MAC stated that government agencies are taking the case seriously and are investigating through inter-ministerial platforms. The Taipei City Police Department's Zhongshan Precinct stated that they arrested one accomplice yesterday and arrested the main suspect, a man surnamed Guo, today. They are currently conducting digital forensics on his phone to clarify the motive and whether he was acting under instructions.
