A 63-year-old man surnamed Zuo was arrested by police yesterday in Tamsui District, New Taipei City, for installing a hidden camera in a women's restroom at the National Taipei University of Education. He was transferred to the Taipei District Prosecutors Office this afternoon on suspicion of violating privacy laws. Prosecutors have requested his detention. The Da'an Precinct of the Taipei City Police Department received a report on the 28th regarding a suspected recording device found in a campus restroom. After reviewing surveillance footage, police identified the suspect as a 63-year-old man from Tamsui who is not affiliated with the school. Police searched his home and seized computers, mobile phones, and memory cards. Prosecutors believe the suspect poses a flight risk and a risk of destroying evidence, leading to the detention request.
