Water Outage in Keelung's Anle Road Due to Construction; Supply Restored After Repairs

The Keelung City Government announced today that a contractor commissioned for sidewalk improvement work on Section 2 of Anle Road accidentally struck an underground water pipe, causing a water outage for nearby residents. The city's Public Works Department stated that normal water supply was restored at 4:30 PM following emergency repairs. The department explained that the work was intended to improve the pedestrian environment. At 1:00 PM today, while the contractor was removing old pavement, they accidentally hit the pipe. After the incident, they immediately notified the water company. The Public Works Department apologized for the inconvenience and stated they would require the contractor to replace the site manager and face contractual penalties. Future measures will include stricter site management to prevent similar incidents.
