Central News Agency, New Taipei, May 30. A man surnamed Kao, who lived alone in Xizhi District, New Taipei City, was found dead today after neighbors reported a foul odor coming from his home. The fire department stated that after receiving a report via 110, they broke down the door and found the man already deceased. Police stated that initial investigations revealed the deceased had a history of chronic illness, and the exact cause of death will be clarified by the prosecutor. The Xizhi Police Precinct stated that residents in the Zhongxiao East Road area reported a foul odor at noon today and requested assistance. Police arrived, received no response to knocking, and with the fire department, forced entry to find Mr. Kao dead on the living room sofa. The forensic team found no signs of struggle, and external interference has been ruled out. The deceased lived alone and had chronic health issues. The case has been reported to the prosecutor for a judicial autopsy to determine if it was a natural death.
