Man living alone in Taichung found dead under refrigerator; police rule out foul play

The Fengyuan Precinct of the Taichung City Police Department stated that they received a report on the morning of the 31st regarding a resident in need of assistance at a home on Dongyang Road. Upon arrival, police learned that the 61-year-old man, surnamed Chang, lived alone. Relatives, unable to contact him for several days, entered through the back door and found him trapped under a refrigerator. After moving the appliance, they found he was unresponsive. Emergency responders confirmed his death. Police investigation found no signs of struggle, and initial findings rule out external interference. The family has no objections regarding the cause of death. The case will be referred to the Taichung District Prosecutors Office for a formal autopsy to clarify the exact cause of death.
