SINGAPORE, May 31 (CNA) - Malaysia criticized the "collective silence" of major nations today regarding the collapse of a naval missile system deal with Norway. Kuala Lumpur is seeking over $251 million in damages from the Norwegian firm involved. Defense Minister Mohamed Khaled Nordin, speaking at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, condemned the lukewarm reaction to Norway's unilateral decision. He argued that this silence sends a dangerous signal and undermines the credibility of international contracts. Norway maintains that the revocation was based strictly on national export control regulations. Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has also expressed strong opposition to the move, calling it unacceptable.
