According to the Central News Agency, a car driven by a woman surnamed Tsai ran a red light in Gushan District, Kaohsiung, on the afternoon of the 31st, colliding with a light rail train. Tsai was sent to the hospital due to discomfort but remained conscious with no obvious external injuries. Police stated that Tsai violated Article 53-1 of the Road Traffic Management and Penalty Act and will be investigated for negligent obstruction of traffic. Kaohsiung Rapid Transit Corp (KRTC) reported that the train service was temporarily downgraded but has since returned to normal. KRTC stated that if police confirm the car was at fault, they will seek compensation for the damage to the train.
