Typhoon Kong-rey Impacts Flights Between Taiwan and Okinawa on June 1

Typhoon Kong-rey intensified into a moderate typhoon at 8:00 AM today, causing flight disruptions. China Airlines announced the cancellation of six flights between Taoyuan/Kaohsiung and Okinawa for tomorrow. EVA Air also announced on its website the cancellation of four flights between Taoyuan and Okinawa for tomorrow. According to the Central Weather Administration, the typhoon is located 580 km south of Naha and is moving north-northwest to north. Tigerair Taiwan previously announced the cancellation of eight flights between Taoyuan/Kaohsiung/Taichung and Okinawa for tomorrow. Airlines are advising passengers to check their websites or mobile apps for the latest flight status as they continue to monitor the typhoon's path.
