Central News Agency, Taipei, June 1. The Taiwan stock market continued its rally in May, drawing a surge of investors. According to the Taiwan Stock Exchange, the cumulative number of stock accounts reached 14,332,896 in May, setting a new record. This represents an increase of 132,102 accounts compared to April. Analyzing the age distribution, new accounts for those aged 20-30 saw the largest growth at 40,102, followed by those under 19 with 28,358. Combined, those under 30 accounted for 68,460 new accounts, representing 51.8% of the total monthly increase, highlighting the trend of market rejuvenation. According to the statistics, cumulative accounts for those under 19 reached 752,643 (+28,358); 20-30 reached 1,808,798 (+40,102); 31-40 reached 2,328,535 (+24,830); 41-50 reached 2,679,070 (+20,791); 51-60 reached 2,384,092 (+10,871); 61 and over reached 4,266,823 (+5,620); and institutional accounts reached 112,935 (+1,530).
