KMT Nominates Ho Yuan-kai to Replace Hsiao Ching-yen in New Taipei City Council Race

In the KMT's primary for the New Taipei City Council (11th District: Xizhi, Wanli, Jinshan), Hsiao Ching-yen, who initially won the primary, withdrew after being suspended by the party for past controversial remarks. The New Taipei City party committee announced on the 1st that Ho Yuan-kai, the runner-up in the primary, will replace him. Ho stated his goal is to secure the seat through unity and to support mayoral candidate Lee Chuan-chiao. Hsiao criticized the party's decision, calling the primary process a joke. Meanwhile, Lin Cheng-feng is set to be nominated for the 10th District.
