(CNA, New Taipei, June 1) Bills Securities, a subsidiary of Bills Finance, was searched today by the New Taipei District Prosecutors Office. It is understood that the search is related to former advisor Chen Di-sheng and others. Prosecutors have taken Chen, former Bills Securities Chairman Wang Hsiang-wen, and former General Manager Chang Yu-chi in for questioning on suspicion of special breach of trust under the Securities and Exchange Act. Bills Finance issued a major announcement this evening confirming that its subsidiary, Bills Securities, had been searched by the New Taipei District Prosecutors Office. The company stated it is cooperating with the investigation and noted in its announcement that the case is currently classified as a 'Ta-zi' case (a case where specific criminal suspects have not yet been identified), and that it has no impact on the company's finances or operations. A 'Ta-zi' case refers to a case where it is not yet clear whether a specific person is suspected of a crime, whereas a 'Zhen-zi' case refers to a case where, after investigation, a specific person is found to be potentially involved in a crime. The search is reportedly related to former advisor Chen Di-sheng and others, with allegations that Chen was substantially involved in the operations of Bills Securities in his capacity as an advisor. Prosecutors summoned Chen, Wang, and Chang for questioning today.
